Mississippi River Boat!
A Mississippi river boat, 30
to 40 years
ago, glided gracefully over the clear
waters of Cockram Mill pond. The Dan
River Queen, a side-wheeler paddle boat,
took us on a magical trip through the
long, lazy summer days of our youth.
Gone aground and left to sad decay,
this Mississippi river boat, the Queen,
has been found and returned to her former home. She is being restored to
once again roam the millpond.
